Peter Siegel is the Director and founder of the DT Division of Cultural Heritage. Dedicated to the cultural heritage community, he has developed a series of reprographic and book capture benches and a reprographic camera system as well as a film scanning solutions and accessories that are purpose-build to meet the specialized needs of cultural institutions. This was a natural fit, as he has served the not for profit community for over 25 years.
Before coming to Digital Transitions over 10 years ago, Peter was the Head of Digital Imaging and Photography for Harvard Art Museums and Fine Arts Library. Here he planned and implemented the modernization of the entire imaging lab and photography services department by designing and integrating image capture technologies for image creation, management and permanence. Peter was also the Director of Digital Imaging at the American Museum of Natural History. Peter was responsible for all aspects of the Digital Imaging program and created an image database containing over 270,000 high-resolution images from Collections, Catalogue Ledgers, and Archives. He also incorporated and designed digital imaging technologies to integrate other museum collections.

Eastern Sales Manager
Wayne Cozzolino, a long-time veteran in the photography industry, provides complete high-end digitization solutions, and most importantly, expert level knowledge and support tailored to the needs of this specialized market. Over the years Wayne has enjoyed working with museums, and is excited to provide the complete solutions that make the DT Cultural Heritage unique.
With 25 years of experience serving photographers and cultural institutions working at MidCity Camera, Calumet Photographic, SSI and ProCenter Camera, Wayne has a reputation of providing long-term customer service and providing “big picture” solutions. As a photographer and mentor himself, his passion for honing his own craft and sharing that knowledge with the community makes him a perfect fit for the DT Division of Cultural Heritage and our mission.

Western Sales Manager
Carol has over 25 years of experience in the imaging industry, with eight years specifically dedicated to Cultural Heritage. She comes to us from Kirtas Technologies, where she also provided collection digitization services with a focus on book conversion. This has given her a great deal of insight on how to help institutions succeed at large scale conversion projects.
Carol utilizes a consultative approach for clients requiring the implementation of both high quality and efficient systems for all types of materials including: bound books, flat material, photographs and negatives. Together with the DCH technical team, Carol will offer ideal solutions based on her clients’ current applications as well as future needs.

Central Sales Manager
A native of New Orleans, LA, Jerry has been a professional photographer for his whole working career. His career has been rich with diversity in assignments. From Super Bowls to Presidents… to the Pope… to great chefs, to Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, to priceless Art, Architecture, to the Indy 500 over a dozen times… Products, People… Places… Things… and Food… Oh the FOOD!!
After Jerry finished a three-year contract as photographer at the Dallas Museum of Art, one of four photographers shooting the entire collection of priceless art and objects, where he used Phase One cameras, and Capture One software from Digital Transitions. At the end of his contract, he liked the equipment and the company so much that he went to work for Digital Transitions in summer of 2017. His easy and humorous demeanor and style make him a natural in front of a crowd when it comes to teaching and training.
Now living in Lewisville, TX after Hurricane Katrina, Jerry really enjoys working for Digital Transitions and still enjoys photography when time allows.

Mid-Western Sales Manager
Michael Chan is a native of New York City, and has an extensive background in art handling. He has worked on document and gilded frame restoration as well as book making. Michael is a history and photography enthusiast and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Previously a Systems Installer for the DT Division of Cultural Heritage, Michael is now providing consultation services to our cultural heritage clients. His experience implementing our systems gives him the expertise required to help institutions integrate solutions that will not only enhance their digitization program, but achieve the highest quality output of their collections.

R&D, Head of R+D and Products
Doug is the Head of Research and Design and Products at Digital Transitions. He has a BS in Commercial Photography from Ohio University and has worked on the technology side of high-end digital imaging his entire career. Since joining the Cultural Heritage Division his focus has shifted strongly toward imaging in preservation settings. He is the lead author of the Phase One Color Reproduction Guide and Imaging for the Future: Digitization Program Planning, and has presented multiple Short Courses at the IS&T Archiving imaging conference.

Scott Newirth earned a bachelor’s degree in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Before joining Digital Transitions, Scott spent several years as camera equipment coordinator at a photographic rental house and worked for 15 years as a commercial photographer in New York City, producing advertisements for clients including Proctor & Gamble, Fidelity Investments and Chase Bank. In addition to his commercial work Scott also taught studio photography for several semesters at the Parsons School of Design.
To support DT’s clients he calls on his first hand knowledge of the photographic process and previous experiences with how equipment works and why it breaks. This enhances his extensive knowledge of our Phase One and other reprographic systems allowing him to provide excellent support by phone as well as face to face. He clearly explains the workings of camera systems and software and methodically troubleshoots the cause of a malfunction or bug and provides a solution.

Joseph King has a soft spot for all things technological. With backgrounds in both photography and mechanical engineering, he is able to understand clients’ concerns in high end imaging as well as provide step by step instructions on hardware system troubleshooting.
Joseph believes that to solve a problem; the process will need to be analytical and methodical in order to derive a solution that is permanent. Like Division of Cultural Heritage’s slogan, “Do it once, do it right”; he applies that ideology to all the technical support cases he encounters and ensures that the communication between him and the clients are clear, and the problems are resolved at the root.
