On May 21, 2013, Phase One released the latest version of Capture One PRO, Version 7.1.2. We have been putting it through its paces and have had good results. See the list of enhancements and bug fixes below before downloading. Please note that with each release, we can’t find all issues but we can confidently provide a preliminary recommendation. However, this recommendation comes with some technical specifications.

We have found that, with Capture One 7, at least 8 GB’s of RAM is required. Capture One can use up to 6 GB’s of RAM which would leave 2 GB’s for other applications and general OS operations. If you are using additional programs at the same time you should have more than 8 GB’s installed. Additionally, Mac users should have either Mac OS 10.7.5 or 10.8.2 or higher installed. We also recommend that a clean uninstall should be performed prior to installation of the new version.

An important note on Sessions
Any session created in Capture One 7.1.2 cannot be opened in earlier versions of the software. However the captures can still be accessed through the folders if needed.

For those ready to upgrade, please be sure to test on your shooting station prior to an actual shoot. If you have any questions about upgrading please let us know.
